Thanksgiving on the Farm

Thanksgiving is a holiday of gratitude and I always welcome the opportunity to reflect on my blessings. I am grateful for the beauty of the farm and that I get to live in a pastoral setting with the people and animals that I cherish and love. I am thankful for the commitment William and I are making to the restoration of the original farm house and barn. It has not been easy, and we live a bit rough some days, but we are honoring the property and will be good stewards of the land for years to come.

I grateful that I am able to develop a greater appreciation for nature. Be it the weather, changing seasons, capturing a sunset over the pond, spotting migratory birds, growing and eating fresh fruits and vegetables, or raising my baby chicks and three goats. Everyday I find beauty on our farm that enriches me. William and I are energized to learn new skills to better cultivate our days, living and eating well, and embracing a more enriching and less stressful life.

I am thankful for our friends and family who have supported us in our move and share our vision for Parc Ferme. I am thankful for my beautiful daughters – who may think we are crazy – but none the less take the time to check in and hear about our construction and farming progress.

Many thanks to Craig and Annette for inviting us to their Thanksgiving meal. (They have seen the current condition of my kitchen and knew we would not be cooking this year!) I am hoping to host next year in my newly renovated farmhouse!

Best wishes to all for a lovely Thanksgiving.
