We are renovating and modernizing our 19th century Pennsylvania farmhouse. We will live in the home during the 24-month long transformation! It is our intent to maintain the historical details and charm of the old home while incorporating modern conveniences. What I love most about our renovation plans; we are keeping the 25 ft roof and floor beams that offer structural support to the house. We will also rebuild the original home’s summer kitchen and use the space as our guest suite.

We have a large Sweitzer style barn on our farm that was built be in the early 1800s. We know the approximate date of the barn, because the beams predate the opening of the New Freedom sawmill around 1850. We are still considering how to best use the barn on our farm and will begin much needed repairs starting in 2026.
